An Afternoon Under the Fig Tree

August, late in the afternoon, at that hour when the day has ripened. A table in the shade of a fig tree. A white tablecloth, a bowl of thick goat yogurt, ripe figs, a little honey. Lavender blooming somewhere nearby. A cup of this, a spoonful of that, a pinch of something else.
It seems like the beginning of a very simple story — warm, familiar, comforting.

And then everything comes together, changes, begins to speak differently — and something unexpected appears in this simple story: a quiet kind of luxury. Subtle, delicate, almost effortlessly refined.

The soap is made with goat yogurt, fresh fig purée and honey. It contains generous amounts of shea butter and sweet almond oil for gentle skin care, while coconut and castor oils create a soft, creamy lather. As another little touch to the story, I added a tincture of fig leaves; the darker layer contains madder root tincture and a small amount of lavender essential oil.

The scent is warm, soft and slightly creamy. It is difficult to describe: not sweet, though there is something faintly gourmand about it, along with the greenness of fig leaves and a very delicate note of lavender. Together they create a complex, almost perfumed scent — subtle, comforting and refined.

The weight of a piece at the time of cutting, as gradually natural soap becomes lighter, but at the same time harder and more economical to use.

Store in a dark, unheated place until use. The soap can be used as a natural fragrance in a dresser drawer or on a closet shelf. The fragrance and color may fade over time, but the cleansing and caring properties of the soap will only become brighter.

Our soap is packaged in paper that I color with plants myself.
Do not wrap it in plastic or cellophane, it is alive and needs to breathe.

When you use it, make sure it is in a dry soap dish - it will last longer that way.
